The 2017 NBA Draft saw Sacramento draft well, Minnesota robbing Chicago and Boston feeling bittersweet. Who were the big winners and losers of the draft?

The 2017 NBA Draft is all wrapped up, and most of the draft went as planned such as Markelle Fultz joining “The Process” in Philly, Lonzo Ball’s destiny to become a Laker came true, etc.

As in anything, there will be winners, and there will be losers, and the draft was no different. This draft was one of the most exciting in the last decade and picking right can set up a franchise for the next ten years, but drafting wrong can destroy all the improvements a team has made.

There were some slight winners like Charlotte and Utah landing Malik Monk & Donovan Mitchell respectively at surprising spots. There were subtle losers like the Denver Nuggets who I don’t think drafting the best players available when they were in a position to all night.

Of course, Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball and Josh Jackson were exciting picks that could change the franchises for the better, but here are the BIG winners and losers of the 2017 NBA Draft.
