NBA’s Best Hair Award

This one is very self explanatory. This award goes to the player with the most flawless lettuce, whether that be facial, on top of the head, or a combination of both.

Let’s take a look at the nominees.

James Harden

The Beard isn’t his birth name, but it might as well be. Harden hands down has the best facial hair in all the league and combines it with a clean mohawk. Not only does the beard add +10 swag points to his game, but it also acts as a flop enahncer.

Refs see his head snap backwards and the dark blur of the beard pretty much forces the ref to blow his whistle. James shot a league leading 881 free throws this season.

Gordon Hayward

Clean. Suave. Modern. Gordon Hayward has been the trend setter for white basketball player haircuts all over the globe. His barber shop has a special $40 haircut named after him. Accompany his flawless fade/ undercut with his face scruff and you won’t find a saucier player out there. Legend has it, his hair has never moved.

Kelly Oubre Jr.

Don’t be fooled by his baby face, his fro hawk is a man amongst boys. Kelly Oubre is one of the young budding trend setters in the league when it comes to style. His spiky curled mohawk recently got a little blonde dye towards the back for extra style points.

Don’t be at all surprised if this catches on with more young talent coming up in the NBA.

Joakim Noah

*Checks if Noah is still in the league* OK, we’re good.

How soon we forget about Joakim Noah having a man bun before having a man bun was popular. Yes he’s always injured and yes he’s making about $17 million too much in his contract, but that doesn’t take away from his wild style. His Tarzan-like flow combined with his patchy beard gives him a rugged edge in this category.

And the award for Best Hair in the NBA goes to….

Gordon Hayward

With his great hair and beard combo came great super powers. We’ve watched Hayward grow from a little shaggy haired Butler boy averaging 5.4 points a game, to a slick, trend setting man averaging nearly 22 points per game. Congratulations to Gordon Hayward on his first career All-Star appearance this season, but more importantly, his first career NBA Best Hair award.
