NBA Free Agency: 9 signings that make the most sense
Analyzing the top 9 NBA free agents and where they should sign based on their best fits
For 28 teams, the offseason has begun. With NBA free agents looking to move homes, we used the free agent rankings and statistics from HoopsHype, and substituted the players who are absolutely zero chance at moving side.
Whilst it is fun imagining Kevin Durant or Steph Curry playing in Philadelphia, it doesn’t really seem realistic.
Who are the top free agents, and where are they the best fit?
Gordon Hayward
Ideal destination: Boston Celtics
Of all the free agents who are a chance to change teams, Gordon Hayward is easily the best. The talented wing is improving every season and is a genuine two-way threat these days.
The Celtics are in the amazing position of having future assets whilst being good this year. The history between Hayward and Brad Stevens is not a new one. The two have a long history, with the two having worked together at the collegiate level.
Not only does Boston have the ability to afford him, but there is a chance that Hayward has a better chance to succeed in Boston than he does in Utah.
If everything falls right for the Celtics, there is a chance that they land Hayward and potentially Paul George. This sets the team up for the present, and the future.
