NBA Free Agency: 9 signings that make the most sense
Kyle Lowry
Ideal destination: San Antonio Spurs
Does Kyle Lowry want to win? Like, really want to win?
Whilst others don’t have an option to go to a better chance to win, Kyle Lowry definitely does. The San Antonio Spurs have arguably the best two-way player in the game, the best coach, and a proven track record of success. They also proved to be more than competitive with the Warriors before Leonard’s injury.
Meanwhile, the Raptors looked a million miles away from Cleveland these playoffs. He will have to sacrifice guaranteed money to go, but you cannot argue that the Spurs is a better opportunity for Lowry.
Tony Parker is well into the back-nine of his glittering career. Whilst he performed well in the post-season, his untimely injury highlights the lack of quality production needed at the point guard spot.
Furthermore, with Manu Ginobili looking like he won’t be coming back, Parker could be the sixth man for the Spurs next season when he is healthy.
A Big Three with Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry, and LaMarcus Aldridge offers offensive and defensive versatility.
