Otto Porter

Ideal destination: Brooklyn Nets

The Nets are building up a stable of young talent. They also have cap space to burn. They will have enough space to offer max contracts to restricted free agents. Signing Porter on a max contract is definitely overpay in a vacuum. However, when you look at the lack of talented wings in the league at the moment, it looks less ridiculous.

A current core of Lin, Porter, and Lopez is intriguing and will be somewhat competitive. Add in the Nets’ young players like Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Caris LeVert and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

With the Nets surrendering their next couple of first-round picks, Brooklyn will need to take flyers on young players with upside. The Nets would put Porter in a place to live up to his max contract.

However, this is probably all in vain, as theThe Wizards have no intention of letting Porter walk, but they’ll have to overpay to keep him.
