NBA Free Agency Roundup: Kyle Lowry re-signs with the Raptors, Dion Waiters gets interest from the Lakers and the Gordon Hayward waiting game continues
NBA Free Agency is in full swing, and did not take the weekend off.
As we continue to wait for the big decisions from Otto Porter, Paul Millsap and Gordon Hayward, here’s a quick rundown of what took place over the weekend.
Denver Nuggets get their star
The Denver Nuggets get their star in the way of Paul Millsap, who will cost them $90 million over three years. It’s not a long deal, which is good, however I’m not sure how much this will move the dial. Still, the Nuggets needed a star. They got one now.
Cleveland brings back a shooter
While the Golden State Warriors spent most of their focus on bringing back Andre Iguodala, the Cleveland Cavaliers did a similar job with Kyle Korver. However, this is a move that comes with mixed reviews.
Toronto begins to bring the band back together
On Saturday, Serge Ibaka addressed the ridiculous age rumors. Sunday, he agreed to a three-year, $65 million deal. This was the first of two moves that the Raptors would get done.
Taj Gibson lands with Thibs
Tom Thibodeau has brought his second former player on board. Sunday, Taj Gibson and the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to a two-year deal. Thibs gets another one of his guys. Is Derrick Rose next?
Kyle Lowry gets paid
Once the point guard market dried up, it was a forgone conclusion that Kyle Lowry was going to end up back in Toronto. And when Serge Ibaka was re-signed, it was only a matter of time.
Justin Holiday inks in Chicago
Holiday is a cheap option in the backcourt for Chicago, especially assuming that Dwyane Wade won’t be on the team for much longer. Plus, as the Bulls continue their youth movement, adding Holiday makes sense.
Dion Waiters to LA?
Maybe he won’t wait an extra day or two, as the Miami Heat await Gordon Hayward to make a decision?
Ben McLemore gets another shot
After not realizing his potential in Sacramento, the Kings declined to extend a qualifying offer to Ben McLemore, which made him an unrestricted free agent.

He will now get his second shot in Memphis. It’s reportedly a two-year, $10.7 million deal. Which is actually great value for the Grizzlies, especially if McLemore develops as many expected he would when he was drafted.
