Dallas Mavericks – 35 Wins

After years of not tanking, Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks finally did, and it won them Dennis Smith Jr., a nice foundational point guard.

Kudos to Dirk Nowitizki for taking a pay cut to help the team, but they are still not Western Conference playoff material.

Memphis Grizzlies – 35 Wins

It appears – for now, at least – the Memphis Grizzlies are not ready for a full rebuild, despite letting two of their six most used players from last season leave in free agency, and Tony Allen appearing to up that number to three.

But they still have a formidable point guard, big man combination. That alone should should prevent them from being terrible. It will be interesting if former lottery picks Ben McLemore and Tyreke Evans can rejuvenate their careers in Memphis.
