Lonzo Ball, Los Angeles Lakers

The kid is the biggest name in the NBA Summer League, and very well could (absolutely did) win MVP of the whole damn tournament. Averaging 16.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg, and 9.3 apg, Lonzo is making Summer League history.

He is the first player to ever record a triple-double in Vegas, and he has two of them. After a sub-par performance in his NBA debut, he got out of those Skechers he was wearing, laced up his Kobe’s, and went to work.

Not only does his team benefit from his presence, but Lonzo has single-handedly put the Summer League on the map. 16,000 fans are in attendance every game he plays in. The energy is electric, it boosts the players on the courts energy levels, and the overall product of the Summer League has taken a drastic rise.

When Lonzo is in a room, he demands all of the attention. Not because he is loud and obnoxious, but because he is already a polarizing star, who hasn’t even played a real NBA game yet. We are obsessing over his shoes in each game he plays. LeBron and Harden, two of the leagues biggest stars, put pictures of Lonzo wearing their respected shoes on their instagram pages.

During an NBA offseason where there is usually no in-game excitement, Lonzo Ball has made games during the offseason meaningful. Thank you, NBA Summer League MVP, for giving us something to obsess about until the season starts back up.
