NBA Rumors: According to ESPN, the Miami Heat would be willing to trade Goran Dragic for Kyrie Irving; though, it’s unlikely to come to fruition

As Kyrie Irving’s trade market shrinks by every report that gets released, the Cleveland Cavaliers went proactive Friday morning.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Miami Heat are reportedly willing to trade Goran Dragic and Justise Winslow in exchange for Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving.

Now, why does this translate as a “proactive” move for Cleveland? It’s pretty simple. Cleveland is using this report – whether it’s true or not – as a way to set the market for Irving. If the floor for any Irving trade is Dragic and Winslow, that could start a bidding war for him.

You know why this also makes sense? Because there was almost no way Cleveland and Miami – because of their LeBron history – was going to strike a deal. This is the Cavs taking advantage of Miami’s reported interest.

"[via ESPN]The Heat are willing to part with Goran Dragic and Justise Winslow as centerpieces for an Irving trade, league sources said. With the Cleveland-Miami history, there’s little chance for a deal unless the Heat offered an overwhelming package."

If nothing else, Cleveland could also try to complicate things for Miami’s locker room. Although, not long after it was reported that the Heat were willing to part with Dragic and Winslow for Irving, it seems like the Heat wasted no time in doing a bit of damage control.

Interestingly enough, Woj never states that Miami offered Dragic and Winslow. He simply stated that they’d be willing to part ways with them. Nevertheless, this feels more and more like Cleveland trying to begin setting a market for a Irving trade.

And in order to strike a deal with the Cavs, it sounds more and more like it’s going to take a significant load. Question is, which team out there is willing to oblige?
