10. Chicago Bulls

X-Factor: Dwyane Wade

The Jimmy Butler era in Chicago is over. Much like the previous team on this list, fans wanted more in return for their superstar. Both Kris Dunn and Zach LaVine came over in the Butler trade. LaVine put up great numbers in year three, but only played in 47 games due to an ACL tear. Dunn was largely ineffective in his limited action with the T-Wolves (3.8 PPG on 38 FG%). It will be interesting to see whether or not the Bulls continue Minnesota’s strategy of slow growth for Dunn or try and expedite the process.

There’s no doubt the rebuild process is underway in Chicago. Even though the decision was made when Butler was traded, the Bulls already have the young talent to improve upon: Dunn, Lavine, Denzel Valentine, Lauri Markkenan, Jerian Grant, David Nwaba, and Bobby Portis. Most of these players will be part of the rotation this season, and as of now will be led by the veteran Dwyane Wade and Robin Lopez.

Wade opted into his lucrative contract in the offseason, earning him $23 million this season alone. This is the first time in the future HOF’s career that he will be the highest paid player on his team. With that being said, he will have to lead this Chicago team if he wants to avoid missing the playoffs for only the third time in is career. As long as his contract isn’t bought out or he’s traded, expect any team Wade plays for to compete for the playoffs.

Final Record: 37-45
