Chris Paul to Rockets

In what was the biggest move of the summer, Chris Paul decided he wanted to join Houston. While Paul was technically acquired through a sign-and-trade, Paul did that as a courtesy to the Clippers. Many believed that Paul would return to the Clippers, but Paul decided he wanted change to get over the hump better known as the WCF.

Paul’s illustrious career has been tainted by his inability to reach the WCF, he has been close several times but has never advanced past round 2 of the playoffs.

Chris Paul is coming off another great season, posting 18.1 PPG and 9.2 APG in 61 games. Paul was absolutely superb for the Clippers in the first round series which ultimately ended in defeat. However, Paul would be the last person one would blame, as he averaged an incredible 25 PPG and 10 APG for the series.

Paul and Harden have the potential to be the deadliest backcourt duo in the league. They both have each other to take pressure off one another. Not to mention the shooters they are equipped with. Paul’s WCF drought may come to an end as Houston no longer has a problem.
