No, it’s not fair that a guy who willingly took a backseat for the betterment of his team will continue to drop in these vote tallies, but that’s the reality of life in the NBA. Next season just feels like it will belong to Durant, fresh off his Finals MVP, and the Warriors are not going after any gaudy win total this year.
If Durant gets hurt again, this could change. Absent an injury though, this might be the last year Steph even finds himself this high.
