NBA: Ranking all 30 head coaches ahead of the 2017-18 season
12. Dwane Casey, Toronto Raptors
For as much success Casey has had in the regular season with Toronto, it hasn’t added up in the playoffs. A big reason for this is they always have to meet up with The King in the playoffs, but another glaring trend in their past playoff performances is how their key guys don’t show up.
DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry have been known to underachieve when it matters most. Half of that is their own individual problem, but the other half is the coaches job to put these players in the best position to take over games like they should.
2018 will be Casey’s seventh year as head coach of the Raptors and their regular season success will probably continue, but if their playoff woes are still there, the road may be coming to an end for Dwane in the Six.
