2. Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves
While Porzingis probably gets more attention for playing in The Big Apple, Towns quietly registered an incredible season during which he turned just 21 years old. Towns is everything one looks for in the modern big man. He has size and skill, helping him post averages of 25 and 12 in just his second pro season.
I remember hearing rumblings that Towns could shoot threes during his lone season at Kentucky and that John Calipari just wasn’t letting him show off that part of his game. I scoffed at such rumors. Towns shot nearly 37 percent from three-point range in 2016-17, showing those rumblings of the past to be legitimate.
Towns isn’t even close to realizing his full potential yet, and we’re talking about a guy that posted a PER of 26 last year. It’d be extremely difficult to imagine Minnesota trading him in any situation, but one would have to at least consider it for the final player on our list…
