NBA Rumors: Despite signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this week, Dwyane Wade makes it clear he wants to end his career in Miami
Dwyane Wade may have just landed the ultimate gut punch to Miami Heat fans when he decided to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers after being bought out by the Chicago Bulls, but he once again reiterated his desire to end his career in Miami.
That doesn’t mean he’s going to sign with the Heat next summer, when he hits the open market again, but it does suggest that he’s at the very least thinking about returning at some point before his career ends.
It’s just the right thing to do. And both Wade and the Heat know it.

"[via Miami Herald]“Miami, the door’s always unlocked,” he said. “One day I want to retire in a Miami Heat jersey. I don’t know how that will happen, but I definitely want to make sure that when I decide to hang it up, that jersey is one.”"
This summer just wasn’t the time for a reunion. The Heat are trying to build something off the success they sustained during the latter potion of last season, and Wade is trying to make one more run at an NBA championship.
Miami and Wade are on different pages, and that’s OK.
Even though Wade signing with Cleveland, in large part because of his best friend LeBron James, will likely spark up some unfortunate feelings inside some Heat fans, especially when they likely see him on the biggest stage again next season, there’s a bigger picture that needs to be stressed.
Wade will eventually return to Miami. He was, partially, run off last summer. That’s something that can’t be taken back. Was there blame on both sides, sure. But the Heat aren’t exactly off the hook.

Either way, time usually heals all wounds. In this case, one season wasn’t enough. But there’s no question, sometime soon Wade will be back in a Miami Heat uniform. Where he belongs.
