21. Los Angeles Lakers

Projected Starters: Lonzo Ball, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, Brook Lopez

Possible Starters: Jordan Clarkson, Luol Deng, Larry Nance

All eyes will be on “Big Baller” Ball this season. He may be the most highly anticipated Laker since Kobe Bryant. Fans will be utterly disappointed in the unlikely scenario he becomes an average pro. I mean, his shoes sell for 450 dollars!  Both, he and Caldwell-Pope, are in a fresh situation. KCP usually plays comfortably at a fast pace and could benefit from Ball’s pure point guard skills. Magic Johnson gave sophomore wing player Brandon Ingram the term, “untouchable”.

He also made a comment on Ingram’s chances of leading the club in scoring this season. His minutes played (just under 29 per game) and scoring average (9.4 points) should both increase.

Consensus: The name LeBron James has been heavily associated with the Lakers for the 2018-19 season. Not to downplay the Lakers this season because they could be an entertaining team to watch. However, the believable LBJ rumors could mean the organization remains patient while preparing for years ahead.
