NBA: Ranking every starting shooting guard heading into 2017-18
By Tony Webb
24. Tony Allen- New Orleans Pelicans
Allen didn’t have a home recently until signing with New Orleans. Allen is a lock down defender who can take on any guard on the floor. Allen is now 35 years old and you wonder how much he has left in him. Like Roberson, Allen doesn’t shoot the ball well, which is what teams look for in their shooting guards these days. Ian Clark should also see time at shooting guard, but for now Allen should get the starting nod.
23. Justin Holiday – Chicago Bulls
Justin Holiday isn’t a sexy name, but he’s a pretty solid all-around shooting guard in this league. Last season with the Knicks, Holiday averaged nearly eight points per game on 36 percent shooting from 3-point range.
