Memphis Won’t Make The Playoffs

It was not that long ago where the Memphis Grizzlies were viewed as title contenders and next in line. Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph once formed the best big man duo in the league. Mike Conley a steady point guard leader and Tony Allen was quite possibly the best perimeter defender in the league.

Fast forward a few years later and a number of things have changed. Marc Gasol is still a great player but he no longer has his running mate in Randolph; Tony Allen is now a New Orlean Pelican; Chandler Parsons has not quite worked out; Tyreke Evans has never been able to replicate the success he once had as a rookie; and although Mike Conley has gotten better and better each year he has been in the league he has been a bit injury prone.

The Grizzlies were known as the grindhouse because they would throw the ball in the paint and win games at a slower pace, but the NBA has changed. Memphis has never addressed their shooting problems and with the Western Conference getting even more stronger, the Grizzlies will have to fight for the last playoff spot. A fight they will ultimately lose.
