Zion Williamson, SF

Spartanburg High School

Age: 17

If you haven’t heard about the high flying, slam dunking Zion Williamson you must be living under a rock. Zion Williamson is the High School senior who has been breaking the internet for the past nine months with his crazy windmill dunks and LeBron-like chase down blocks.

Zion Williamson is a High school Senior at Spartanburg  Day School in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He is currently ranked No. 1 on the Recruiting Class for 2018 on all basketball recruiting sites.

In case you are wondering why he should be on this list, let me give you many reasons why he belong son this list. Zion Williamson can be the NEXT LeBron James. I rarely say that as I’ve only compared one other player to LeBron James ,who is unproven rookie Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers (player who further up on this list).

Williamson can be a top player in the NBA and eventually be considered Generational because of the hype surrounding him. As a High School baller, he has already been featured on multiple Sportscenter Top plays, is one of the most talked about high school basketball players ever, and even has a celebrity fan base consisting of the rapper Drake who was seen a few months ago rocking the No. 12 Spartanburg jersey. You rarely ever see that. The hype can make or break you, but I firmly believe Zion will run with it rather than let it break him.

Besides the fame, attention, and hype Zion has surrounding him, the kid can flat out ball for a 17-year-old. He has some of the most raw talent ever. His shot and footwork can be fixed and worked on, but his vision on the court, and sense for the ball is just not High school like. He balls out like a NBA player. Playing with High School kids is just boring for Zion. He completely dominates them with his big body weighing in at 230 and can sue his height as an advantage as he is listed in at 6-foot-7 according to numerous basketball prospect websites.

Zion Williamson has still yet to commit, so keep a close eye on him where he ends up playing College Ball. The question won’t be if Zion makes an impact in the NBA, but it will be when he does. Zion has so many tools and can be one of the scariest ballers on the planet if he uses them wisely. I am 100% certain Zion will be able to transition fine to the NBA, I’m just not sure how sure he will be able to become that “Generational Player” that he could most definitely become.
