Denver Nuggets

The Suns have reportedly already engaged in trade talks with the Denver Nuggets, a team that is perhaps the most natural fit for Bledsoe. Denver has its sights set on a playoff spot after acquiring forward Paul Millsap in the offseason, but point guard is by far the team’s biggest weakness. Bledsoe could slide right into the starting backcourt alongside Gary Harris, a player whose shooting ability would complement him well.

A package centered around point guard Emmanuel Mudiay has been rumored, which also makes a lot of sense. Mudiay is just two years removed from being selected 7th in the 2015 NBA Draft, and though he’s been exceptionally inefficient in his first two pro seasons he retains considerable upside. The departure of Bledsoe would leave a significant hole at the point guard position in Phoenix, one that Mudiay could presumably fill.

Mudiay alone is not enough, as the salaries would not match up for a trade. The inclusion of either Kenneth Faried or Wilson Chandler would make the financials work, though one would think Phoenix would want a bit more for Bledsoe. The Suns are certainly not operating from a position of leverage here, but the addition of a young talent like Malik Beasley could serve as a nice sweetener.
