NBA: 10 early observations of the 2017-18 season

Giannis has arrived
Some people thought this would be the year Giannis Antetokumpo would take over the league. Well, it’s happening as the Greek Freak is dominating the league. He is averaging 36.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists on 65% shooting. Yes, those numbers are real. The scary part is he hasn’t even learned how to shoot yet. Giannis is only shooting 16% from 3. Like Ben Simmons defenders play off him he doesn’t matter. The Greek Freek just gets a head of steam and finished at the rim over anyone.
His arms just keep going like Michael Jordan in Space Jam. He is still only alright from the free throw line, but again it doesn’t matter. Gianni’s PER is 40.33, and his true shooting percentage is 69.6%. Both marks lead the league and are just ridiculous. Milwaukee is 3-1, and It’s because of Giannis. He is now the most unstoppable force in the game and the MVP so far this season. In his fifth season, the Greek Freak has arrived, and we should be afraid, very afraid.
Against Portland, he dropped a career-high 44 points with several amazing plays.
The game is on the line. Damian Lillard feeds Jusef Nurkic off the pick and roll. Nurkic rampages to the hole and Giannis is there to meet him. As Nurkic goes up, Giannis swats away his shot emphatically. This play shows how unique an athlete he is. If he ever learns to shoot, its over.
