NBA Rumors: Nikola Mirotic is not happy with the Chicago Bulls, and it may lead to a trade

When it was reported that Bobby Portis had seriously injured Nikola Mirotic after an in-practice scuffle, it seemed pretty clear where the bulk of the blame should fall.

No matter who “started” the altercation, it’s never necessary to lay out a teammate – no matter how intense it gets. That’s never the solution. It never should’ve got to that extreme.

And because the Chicago Bulls never handle anything the right way, they’ve of course angered the “victim” in this occasion.

According to a report from The Chicago Tribune, Nikola Mirotic isn’t happy about the way the Bulls have handled this entire situation.

"[via Chicago Trubine]Between the organization making public its view that Mirotic acted as an aggressor leading up to Portis’ inexcusable act, plus the fact Portis is being allowed to practice during the suspension, there’s dissatisfaction within the Mirotic camp that his plight is being understood, sources said."

There’s no question that the Chicago Bulls are trying to keep this in-house. They never wanted this to get out, and maybe it doesn’t if Mirotic isn’t seriously injured. Nevertheless, in doing so, they’re trying to play both sides – and that is not what Mirotic wanted to see.

In his point of view, Portis crossed the line. Potentially a line that should never be crossed. Perhaps one that should result in that player no longer playing for the Bulls.

Chicago dropped an eight game suspension for Portis after the altercation. Was it enough? Maybe. Maybe not.

One thing is clear, Nikola Mirotic wants the Chicago Bulls to make a choice. It’s either Mirotic or Portis; and probably can’t be both anymore. And through their actions thus far, it’s not out of the realm of reality that the Bulls have already made their decision. Sadly, it’s Bobby Portis.

And that could spell the end of Mirotic in a Chicago Bulls jersey.
