New Additions

The Brooklyn Nets take a lot of shots from 3-point range. The problem last year was that the Nets didn’t have players who could consistently knock down shots from deep. In the off-season, they acquired two capable shooters in DeMarre Carroll and Allen Crabbe.

After being injured for much of his Raptors tenure, DeMarre Carroll looks healthy and motivated. He is knocking down his 3s and he is playing his usual aggressive style of defense.

These are the kinds of plays that a young team like the Nets need. He may not continue putting up the numbers he is now, but if he can stay healthy and stay hungry, Carroll will be a perfect fit as a 3-and-D player.

Allen Crabbe is never going to live up to his monstrous contract. But, money aside, Crabbe is a terrific piece for the Nets to have. He is an elite shooter (44.4% from 3 last season) who will get plenty of opportunities to get shots up. If he can increase his volume and maintain at least a 40% conversion rate from deep, his contract will seem a little more palatable.
