Philadelphia 76ers rookie Markelle Fultz out indefinitely
NBA Rumors: The Philadelphia 76ers have ruled Markelle Fultz out indefinitely after consulting shoulder specialist. He will be reevaluated in three weeks
Just a few days ago, the Philadelphia 76ers said that Markelle Fultz would be reevaluated after sitting out three games.
That timeline had him possibly returning to the court early next week. Now, however, Fultz will at least miss the next three weeks. After consulting with shoulder specialists, the Sixers have decided to shut down the 2017 No. 1 overall pick for the next few weeks.
He will be reevaluated in three weeks.

"[via ESPN]The Philadelphia 76ers announced that rookie point guard Markelle Fultz is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury and will be re-evaluated in three weeks. The 76ers said Fultz does not have any structural damage in his ailing right shoulder but is dealing with soreness and muscle imbalance."
Fultz has struggled through the first couple weeks of his rookies season in Philadelphia, but the team only revealed his shoulder issue last week. Before being shut down by the Sixers, Fultz was shooting 33 percent from the field and a porous 50 percent from the free throw line. This was all in 19 minutes per contest, off the bench.
The hope is that once Fultz gets healthy again, he will return to form – to the player that was arguably head and shoulders above every other player in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Problem is, there’s really no real timetable on when Fultz will be back on the court. And that’s what makes this entire situation that much more sticky. But the good news is that Philly finally took the pressure off of Fultz. It was unfair for him to be on the floor right now.

Now, assuming he misses at least the next three weeks, Fultz will have proper time to recover on his own time. And that’s something that was likely not happening when he was being forced to playing 20 minutes a night off the bench.
