In the first installment of our NBA Rookie Ladder, an unlikely candidate nearly takes the top spot

What a refreshing NBA rookie class. For the past four years, rookies have set the bar lower than a limbo bar at a five-year-old’s birthday party.

With all due respect to Malcolm Brogdon, last year’s Rookie of the Year, I don’t see him selling out jerseys in the near future. Last year, only FIVE rookies averaged more than 10 points a game. That number has already skyrocketed up to 11 rookies so far this season.

It’s not just about scoring; some of this year’s rookies look downright special. From Ben Simmons, who is technically part of last year’s crop, to Lonzo Ball and Jayson Tatum, the 2017 NBA rookie class will likely be remembered as one of the best.

So without any further ado, lets take a look at our first NBA Rookie Ladder.
