NBA Rumors: Julius Randle is not a part of the Los Angeles Lakers’ future
NBA Rumors: Julius Randle’s days in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform are likely numbered
The Los Angeles Lakers hope to be one of the most active teams during the summer of 2018. Big names such as LeBron James, Paul George and others will likely be testing free agency after the season, and the hope for LA is they can lure one if not a couple of the big names.
Although, if the Lakers manage to pull off such a feat, they’re likely going to have to part ways with some of their current core. Whether it’s Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Jordan Clarkson or Julius Randle, one if not a few of them are going to be moved to make room for a big name or two.
One of the names that isn’t expected to be in the team’s long-term plans, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, is Julius Randle.

One player whose future is very unlikely to continue with the Lakers is Julius Randle.
"[via ESPN]“One player whose future is very unlikely to continue with the Lakers is Julius Randle, their third-year forward.”"
Woj goes on to say in the video that Lakers GM Rob Pelinka is faced with the decision to move Randle ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline or to roll the dice as he heads towards restricted free agency next summer.
Odds are that the Lakers at the very least test the market. If nothing else, you’d expect LA to be able to lure a first-round pick for Randle at the deadline. Randle is only 22 years old and has only begun to scratch the surface on what he could become in the NBA.
After a first rocky few years in LA, which began with him missing his entire rookie season with a leg injury, it might be time for a change of scenery. It actually might be the best possible resolution for both sides – especially if LA has a star lineup up in a few months.
