1. Boston Celtics

It’s not exactly surprising that the Boston Celtics have the best record in the NBA. No, what’s surprising is the fact that they tout the league’s best defense.

After adding Kyrie Irving and losing Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder in the offseason spelled a likely better offense for Boston, but at the same time a worse defense. You’d think. However, through roughly the first month of the season the Celtics have the No. 1 ranked defense.

If this is sustainable for the Celtics, they’re here to stay. Even without Gordon Hayward.
