The Golden State Warriors have built one of the best dynasties in NBA history, but have they peaked?

The Golden State Warriors have dominated the NBA for the past three years. The dynasty all started with the selection of Davidson product, Stephen Curry. Eventually that would lead to the selection of SG Klay Thompson. And shortly after that, the selection of Michigan St. PF, Draymond Green. Once a core 3 was founded, Kevin Durant eventually slithered his way to the Golden City after the Warriors made the NBA Finals back-to-back seasons.

We are now currently in the 2017-18 NBA season. In the past three seasons, the Golden State Warriors have made the NBA Finals all three times, and have won two championships. Both championships came with victories against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

So the real question remains…If you aren’t getting better, are you getting worse?

Well with the Golden State Warriors, it’s a pretty simple answer for this question. The answer is NO! The Warriors are not even close to getting worse and have only continued to build upon their dynasty.

Right when it seems like the Warriors have reached their peak, they go above the bar and continue to prove why there is no sky for them.

In the 2014-15 season, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in 6 games to claim their first Larry O’Brien trophy since 1974. That 2014-15 team consisted of a MVP Stephen Curry, lights out shooter Klay Thompson, an un-aged Andre Iguodala, and a nut-kicking Draymond Green. With Kyrie Irving going down early in the series, the Warriors were destined to win the series.

A year later, LeBron James came back hungrier than ever and lead the Cavs to their first ever NBA Championship over the Warriors.

Then, the 2016 NBA offseason came where Kevin Durant SHOCKED the NBA world by signing with Golden State Warriors to create the ultimate “Super Team”. That “Super Team”, which consisted of former MVP Stephen Curry, former MVP Kevin Durant, All-Star SG Klay Thompson, and All-Star PF Draymond Green, would eventually go on and win the 2016-17 NBA championship with ease.

After a fantastic 16-17 NBA season, the offseason crept up fast. Once again ,the Warriors shocked the basketball world as they would wind up spending $3.5 to acquire a draft pick, which was used on Oregon product Jordan Bell. After the draft the Warriors would also end up signing the long lost Spanish Brother, Swaggy P.

We are now currently in the 2017-18 NBA season and the future still looks brighter than ever for the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors have a great mix of young and old talent on their team and making the Finals seems to be easy for this team as they’ve made the Finals three years in a  row so far. The Warriors seem like they won’t be getting worse for a while. Disregarding their record, they are by far the most talented and best team in the Association as well arguably the best to ever play in it.

The Warriors may be the peak of their team history, but they aren’t even close to declining. All four core players on the roster are still in their 20’s and are showing no sign of decline. They also have a future superstar in rookie Jordan Bell who will eventually take over the reins after the Core 4 splits up.

This season, rookie Jordan Bell is currently averaging 14.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 9.3 rebounds per 36 minutes. With such a stacked squad surrounding him, Bell has only been averaging 8.8 minutes per game. Eventually when the Core 4 starts to etiolate, Bell will begin seeing more playing time as he will likely become the face of the franchise in the near future.

With that being said, the Core 4 has shown no sign of splitting up. The Golden State Warriors may not get any better from this point on, but for sure as hell they won’t be getting worse any time soon.
