NBA Trade Rumors: After not being aggressive in their pursuit for Eric Bledsoe, should the Denver Nuggets try and trade for Goran Dragic?

Perhaps the Denver Nuggets did drop the ball when they didn’t aggressively pursue Eric Bledsoe when he was on the trade market. Although, they have another shot at making a splash before the NBA Trade Deadline.

And with Paul Millsap out for what seems to be the foreseeable future, the Nuggets might need to make a big move in order to remain in the Western Conference playoff picture.

One big name that the Nuggets could target is Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

With the up and down start to the Heat’s season, a Dragic trade could be closer than we all think. Miami is 8-9 and ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference.

James Johnson and Dion Waiters aren’t nearly playing as consistent as last season and the team’s defense isn’t as stout. For a team that doesn’t have a superstar, these are the types of intangibles that equals the playing field.

But because the Heat just aren’t play as cohesive and suffocating as they were during the second half of last season, they’re hovering just below .500. If things get any worse, perhaps it could be time for the team to think about changing the construct of the roster.

If Miami would elect to change things up, moving Goran Dragic would likely be at the top of the list.

This is the perfect storm that could open the door for the Denver Nuggets.

In any trade involving Dragic, the Heat would likely ask for a first-round pick. That’s the baseline. But Denver could also throw in a player like Emmanuel Mudiay to entice the Heat. Coming away with Mudiay and a first-round pick would actually be a win for Miami.

Even though Mudiay hasn’t lived up to his expectations, he’s still only 21 years old and has a ton of potential. That could be enough for both sides to make a deal.

But, again, this is the perfect storm kind of deal. The first shoe has dropped. The Denver Nuggets have a void to fill. Will the second?
