We are a little over a quarter of the way through the 2017-18 NBA season and, unfortunately, a number of star players have already suffered major injuries

When Stephen Curry went down with a nasty-looking sprained ankle in the waning moments of a 125-115 victory in New Orleans last week, it was almost impossible not to feel incredibly concerned and disappointed.

Curry is not only one of the best players in the NBA, but he is also one of the most exciting.

Every game that Curry plays in is a must-watch because you never know what he will do. He can pull up from 30 at any given moment or he might unleash a serious of dribble moves to break even the best defender’s ankles.

Any time that he misses is bad for the league and bad for basketball.

It looks like Curry is going to miss a decent amount of time and you would have to assume that the Warriors will be exceptionally cautious when bringing him back.

This time will give the Warriors a chance to test their depth and see how they function without the two-time MVP running the show. It will also give Kevin Durant the chance to fully assert himself as the main guy on offense. I don’t think this injury is going to affect the Warriors significantly in the long run but it could impact the race for the number 1 seed, with Houston playing at an elite level this season.

With Curry now out, I decided to look at some of the other big names who have gone down with serious injuries and see how their individual teams and the league will be affected by their absence.
