2017 NBA Christmas wish list: What every team ask for this holiday season

Brooklyn Nets: Rebounding
I’m not going to come out and say that the Nets are ‘back’, because if I say that, then that means I think they can make the playoffs and/or compete. While I won’t go that far, they are only four games out of the playoffs, and this is without having two of their best players (Jeremy Lin and D’Angelo Russell) on the shelf for most of the season. Speaking of Russell….
- D’Angelo Russell is their 5th leading rebounder, and he’s been out for almost six weeks
- Their second leading rebounder is someone that was traded to a different team and primarily came off the bench (Trevor Booker, 6.6)
- Their leading rebounder is their starting SF (DeMarre Carroll, 7.0) which is great if your starting center or power forward is your leading rebounder, but….
- Mozgov has made 14 starts in the 21 games he’s played in, and is averaging 13.6 MPG and is averaging 4.0 RPG on the season… at 7’1″
While I really think the Nets would make the playoffs if the season ended today and they had a healthy backcourt of Lin and Russell, they did make a move for Okafor who averaged 7.0 boards a game his rookie season. I hope Atkinson moves him into the starting lineup quickly, because Big Jah is free, and he is motivated.
