Denver Nuggets: To Make a Postseason Run

While the Nuggets are currently the 5th seed in a weaker Western Conference with a 16-14 record, they haven’t really looked like a playoff team all year; at least consistently. The Nuggets didn’t bring Millsap on board to wait until next season to make the postseason, they want to make it this year. While it remains to be seen whether they’ll trade for a PG, they need to shore up their rotations.

Here are some tidbits of information I found while researching the Denver Nuggets:

  • They are the 2nd best offensive rebounding team in the NBA – 12.0 a game
  • Denver’s 2nd and 3rd highest contracts (Mason Plumlee – $14,041,096 and Keneth Faried – $12,921,348) are averaging 19.3 MPG and 16.0 MPG respectively
  • Gary Harris is averaging the most MPG at 34.2, Barton is averaging 31.2; and he’s only made 8 starts all year

Luckily for Denver, I might have a solution for them:

DEN gets: Kemba Walker

CHA gets: Emmanuel Mudiay, Darrell Arthur

You could add another player or two from Denver or Charlotte’s side if you want to make it a tad more realistic, but Charlotte is dangerously approaching L.A. Clippers level of seasons past – good enough to make the postseason/compete, but not good enough to make a run deep into the playoffs. They take a shot on a young player and get a solid veteran in Arthur, while Denver gets that score first PG they foolishly got rid of when they cut Jameer Nelson.

Wait, what?
