Toronto Raptors: Keep building the trust

This year the Toronto Raptors have been a different ball club. A heavier emphasis on ball movement and 3-pointers has made them the number one contenders for the third seed out East.

Their new style of play has seen them rack up around five more assists per night, and overall allowed the offence to flow with much more fluidity.

The Raptors must continue to build trust in this new system, keeping it going into the post season. It’s their only real chance of heading back to the Eastern conference finals. Relying on Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan iso’s just won’t suffice against the East’s elite.

When playing against poor opposition, they can’t get sloppy. Their new system needs reps. Heading into the playoffs the past couple of years, the Raps have completely collapsed. It’s key that they remain focused on playing the right way, not just simply through their all-star backcourt.
