Oklahoma City Thunder: Play through Russ

The Thunder’s season got off to a rough start to say the least, starting off at 8-12. They’ve pieced themselves together as of late, en route to winning six of their last seven games and 5th place in the Western Conference.

The driving force in this improvement in play stems from the trust placed in Russell Westbrook. When the year commenced, there was a “your turn, my turn” kind of feel surrounding the Big 3. As of late, this ideology has been thrown out the window, with Russ taking the reigns of the Thunder offence. George and Anthony are thriving as complementary wing options, taking around 8-15 shots per contest. Westbrook, in a lead role, is putting up around 20-25.

For OKC to continue their recent success, it’s crucial they don’t fall back into their old selves. They must keep playing through Russell Westbrook, as it’s a formula that has granted them nothing but success up to now.
