NBA: Predicting the West playoff picture at the midway point of the 2017-18 season

8. New Orleans Pelicans

Current Seed: 8th 

Record: 20-20

Games remaining vs .500 or better: 20

The New Orleans Pelicans have a great frontcourt in Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, but after that they don’t have much. And it’s shown so far this season, as they are clinging to the 8th seed in the Western Conference playoff picture.

The Pelicans seem to be the best bet for the last playoff spot, especially with their frontcourt talent, and moving forward that might be just enough to convince Cousins to re-sign with the Pelicans during the summer.

Prediction: 8 seed
