Charlotte Hornets

Record:

16-24 (11th in the East)

The Case:

The Charlotte Hornets have dug themselves a huge hole to climb out of down the stretch. They have some solid players, but it will really depend on Kemba Walker to carry the team if they want to make the playoffs. The Hornets also desperately need competent play when Kemba is on the bench. If they can just be a slight negative instead of worst team in the league bad when Walker sits, they could look to turn things around.

This Hornets team feels like a team with no identity or direction. If they are ever going to make a run, the time is now. They are currently in the middle of stretch where they have 8 out of 9 games at home. If they can’t start to gain some momentum now, it will likely end up being another disappointing season for a franchise that wants to compete now.
