Bucks swing for the fence, while Grizzlies finally blow it up

MIL gets- Marc Gasol

MEM gets- Jabari Parker, Thon Maker, Matthew Dellavedova, 2nd round pick (from Dallas)

Something is off with the Milwaukee Bucks. They are good but should be better. When the Greek Freak is on the floor, they are a 55 win team, without him…woof. Sure, Jabari Parker is returning soon, but there are still issue he cant solve. Mainly defense and rebounding. Milwaukee is 25th in defense and 26th in rebounding.

You know who can address both of those problems? Marc Gasol!

Gasol gives the Bucks a defensive anchor, something they don’t have. On offense, his shooting and passing would also be an upgrade. However, getting Gasol would come at a high price. It would mean giving up on Jabari Parker and a  second-round pick, meaning they would have no picks in this year’s draft. Parker is a roll of a dice with his injury history, and the Bucks may not be confident they can resign him anyway.

Memphis would finally push the reset button. They wouldn’t get a first-round pick, but a potential franchise player in Parker, an intriguing center in Thon Maker, a second-round pick and a capable backup point guard in Matthew Dellavedova.

Memphis has said they don’t want to trade Gasol, but sooner or later reality will hit. Don’t be surprised if a trade comes out of nowhere right before the deadline. Here the price is right. Maybe the Bucks are not ready for this intense of a win now move, but this trade would make them a finals contender.
