Breaking down seven big takeaways from the 2018 Hoophall Classic, which featured many potential future college and NBA stars
The overtake of the one and done in college basketball places a lot of emphasis on a players high school performance. Only a handful of ESPN 5-star recruits have not been one and done players in the past two seasons.
Gauging how these guys play in high school is important since you only get to see players for about 30-35 games a year in college.
Some of the top prospects went up against each other in Springfield, Massachusetts at the Hoophall Classic. It featured powerhouse programs like Montverde, Oak Hill, and IMG Academy. It also featured a lot of top recruits like youtube legend Zion Williamson, Duke’s next future one and done’s RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish, and it even featured Anfernee Simons, a senior guard in a post graduate year considering the 2018 NBA Draft.
