Oak Hill demolished by a junior

Oak Hill got beat for one reason today by University School, and that reason is Vernon Carey Jr. It wasn’t like Oak Hill couldn’t matchup up with the 6-foot-10, 260 pounder. Oak Hill countered with David McCormack, a senior who is about the same size as Vernon Carey. McCormack is a 4 star prospect on ESPN committed to Kansas.

However, Vernon Carey Jr owned him all game. Only a junior in high school though so there’s going to be a year wait until Carey is in college. Man was he impressive though. The combination of skill, low post offense, and footwork was so insane for a 16 year old.

He handled the ball on the perimeter, ran the floor with a great motor, and even stepped out to knock down a three. It was the most impressive individual performance in terms of NBA Draft Stock by anybody at the Hoophall Classic, and it came from a kid who won’t even be in college next year.
