NBA Trade Rumors: Should the Milwaukee Bucks target Hassan Whiteside?
NBA Trade Rumors: The Milwaukee Bucks are looking for upgrades in their frontcourt, and are eyeing DeAndre Jordan, but should they target Hassan Whiteside?
It’s not a big secret that the Milwaukee Bucks are searching the trade market for help in the frontcourt, specifically at the center position. It’s also no secret that they covet LA Clippers center DeAndre Jordan.
But should the Bucks continue to target Jordan, or should they shift their focus to another talented center?
One interesting name that may or may not be on the trade block is Hassan Whiteside. The Heat usually hold their cards at their chest, and a leak from the organization is rare. But Hassan is the team’s best trade asset, and with the emergence of rookie Bam Adebayo he’s become somewhat expendable.

As Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders notes, the Bucks are in the market for a center and could pivot to Whiteside. At the very least, they could make a call. Kyler notes that the Bucks have been dangling John Henson and could possible elect to move Jabari Parker before the trade deadline, as he’s expected to hit the restricted trade market after the season.
"[via Basketball Insiders]The Bucks are also ramping up efforts to trigger a significant trade, with eyes not only on Clippers big man DeAndre Jordan, but possibly Miami’s Hassan Whiteside."
Miami isn’t necessarily looking to deal one of their best players, but Pat Riley operates in terms of opportunty. And this could be seen as an opportunity to not only improve the Heat right now but also down the road.
For example, a potential deal of Jabari Parker, John Henson (to the Heat or a third team) and a first-round pick in exchange for Hassan Whiteside might be enough to get it done for both teams.
Hassan is a great player – he’s averaging 15 points, 12 rebounds and nearly two blocks per game this season – and is still getting better.

He’s the type of player that can be a difference maker, especially for a team that hasn’t had an interior presence in a long time. The Bucks and Heat are natural trade partners. Question is, will either team realize it?
