Why is Miami so hardheaded?

I’ve been driving the campaign for the Miami Heat to trade Hassan Whiteside since last season. One year later, I’m as passionate as ever.

The Heat are once again overachieving. They’re a top 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, despite not having one all-star on its team. And because of some foolish moves during the summer – which consisted of the team signing James Johnson and Dion Waiters to big contracts – the team has little-to-no flexibility when it comes to salary and cap space.

One thing that could change that, though, is moving a player like Hassan Whiteside. Funny thing is, even though many perceive Hassan to be the team’s best player, the stats suggest otherwise. Especially as of late.

The emergence of Bam Adebayo has certainly changed some things and has given the Heat an opportunity to really tweak its roster. Although, I still have a hard time believing they’re going to move Hassan before the trade deadline. I believe they should, but I’d be shocked.
