NBA Trade Rumors: The New York Knicks are reportedly trying to trade Joakim Noah , after a recent incident involving head coach Jeff Hornacek

A couple years ago, the New York Knicks – then under Phil Jackson – were ridiculed for signing Joakim Noah to what many perceived was the worst contract in the NBA. During the summer of 2016, the Knicks signed Noah to a four-year, $72 million deal.

Roughly two years later, the Knicks are now trying to trade Noah – and that hefty contract.

According to Yahoo’s Shams Charania, the Knicks are now exploring ways to part with Noah. New York is now focused on trying to move him ahead of next week’s NBA trade deadline. However, if  they can’t find a trade partner, they could open buyout talks if Noah is interested.

Yeah, good luck with that, New York.

"[via Yahoo]After Joakim Noah was sent home because of a heated verbal exchange with coach Jeff Hornacek in practice last week, the New York Knicks are actively exploring avenues to part with Noah, league sources told Yahoo Sports."

Noah and head coach Jeff Hornacek reportedly got into a heated exchange last week, which has now resulted in the Knicks wanted to dump Noah. The big problem with that, however, is the fact that Noah is still due nearly $40 million over the next two years.

And for a player that is, at best, a shell of his former self, that’s not going to be an easy sell for the Knicks – even if they attach a first-round pick, which they likely won’t have any interest in doing.

Essentially, the Knicks trading Noah at this point seems downright impossible.

Apart from Noah, New York is expected to be fairly active as the NBA trade deadline draws near. The Knicks are reportedly shopping Kyle O’Quin and Enes Kanter. It also wouldn’t be all that surprising if the team entertains the possibility of moving Courtney Lee, too.

Noah has only appeared in seven games this season for the New York Knicks, and only played in 46 games a year ago. Will any team bite?
