Mirotic to Minnesota

Bulls Get: Shabazz Mohammed, Justin Patton, Cole Aldrich, OKC’s 1st round pick

Wolves Get: Nikola Mirotic, Paul Zipzer

Why the Bulls Like It:

This gives the Bulls three cheap assets that could all potentially turn into a breakout player. Bulls fans rejoice in getting back the 1st round pick (Justin Patton) they gave up in the Jimmy Butler trade. Mohammed is a solid young player who could potentially start at the SF spot.

The 1st round pick from OKC will likely be one of the last picks of the 1st round, but the Bulls have had some success finding hidden gems when drafting in the 20’s, namely Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson. Aldrich is just there to make salaries match, but could be an asset on the defensive end, and his contract would come off the books after next season.

Why the Wolves Like it:

Nikola Mirotic is by far the best player involved in the trade, Wolves are currently dead last in 3 point makes and 23rd in rebounding. Mirotic would challenge Taj Gibson for the starting spot, and at the very least he would give the bench a go to scorer and solid rebounder. Zipser is a young wing on a cheap contract. He’s got good size(6’8″) for a SF and has shown flashes of being a good shooter and defender. This move should help solidify the Wolves as a top 4 team in the West.
