Mirotic to Utah

Bulls Get: Alec Burkes, Utah’s 2018 1st round pick

Jazz Get: Nikola Mirotic

Why the Bulls Like it:

The Bulls have made it clear they want a 1st round pick for Mirotic, and this lands them one that’s probably going to end up somewhere in the teens. Burkes probably starts on the wing between Lavine and Markannan, and the Bulls get a year and a half to decide if they want to keep him. He’s an OK shooter, attacker and defender, and only 26 years old. If they wanted to go another direction, he would have value as an expiring contract next season.

Why the Jazz Like it:

Mirotic’s fit with the Jazz should be obvious to anyone who follows the NBA. He’s exactly the type of scoring stretch power forward that would fit perfectly next to Rudy Gobert, and he also replaces a lot of what they lost when Hayward left for Boston. He’s the right age to fit in with their young core, and he already has experience playing with Ricky Rubio.

On top of that, its been reported that he would like to play in Utah. As a bonus, Utah would still have the ability to move Favors and Hood for additional players or future assets. With the recent developments with the Pelicans and Clippers, the Jazz would be right back in the playoff hunt.
