Trading with the Wizards

Bulls Get: Markieff Morris, Kelly Oubre Jr., Sheldon Mack, and Wizards 2018 1st round pick

Wizards Get: Nikola Mirotic, Jerian Grant, 2018 2nd round pick (New Orleans)

Why the Bulls Like it:

They get a promising young wing in Oubre who would start for the rebuilding Bulls, and they get to move up in the draft. Oubre is in the middle of a breakout year, and is under contract for next season as well, giving the Bulls plenty of time to audition him for the starting Small Forward spot moving forward. Morris is a solid player that could help a playoff team, and the Bulls would look to move him either before the deadline, or this offseason.

Why the Wizards Like it:

Mirotic is a better fit with the Wizards than Morris. He’s younger, a better shooter, a better rebounder, and he’s at least as good of a defender. He would provide them another go to option, and would be there to catch and shoot while the defense collapses around Wall’s drives to the lane. Along with Mirotic, they get a solid young point guard who can help Tim Frazier hold the fort until Wall’s return.
