Grant to Houston

Bulls Get: Troy Williams

Rockets Get: Jerian Grant

Why the Bulls Likes it:

This is a simple, straight forward trade. The Bulls have extra Point Guards and lack wing depth. Houston has extra Forwards and approximately zero back-up Point Guards. Troy Williams could end up being a huge steal for the Bulls. He’s a 6’7 uber athlete, can shoot, finish, and tries on defense, and he comes on a very cheap contract for the next three years. He’s definitely a low risk – high reward move that the Bulls should definitely pursue.

Why Houston Likes it:

As mentioned above, they don’t have a single backup Point Guard. With Harden and Paul they have it covered, but it’d be nice to allow them both to get more rest before the playoffs, and have insurance in case of injury. Grant is a solid all around young point guard with good size and quickness. He’s comfortable as a ball handler or playing off the ball.
