NBA Trade Rumors: The Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics are reportedly targeting Tyreke Evans ahead of the trade deadline

As the NBA trade deadline quickly approaches, and with the Detroit Pistons kicking the frenzy off by making a blockbuster move for Blake Griffin, Tyreke Evans is becoming a hot commodity.

Evans, who is having quite the bounce back season, averaging 20 points, five rebounds and five assists per game for the lowly Memphis Grizzlies, is reportedly being shopped and there are a number of teams interested.

The Grizzlies are reportedly seeking a first-round pick, at least, in return. Which is not a big ask, considering that Evans is still relatively young and was one of the NBA’s hottest young names just a handful of years ago.

According to Keith Pompey of Philly.com, the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets have all reached out to the Grizzlies about a potential trade centered around Evans.

Evans could play the 1,2 or 3 in today’s NBA climate, which makes him all the more attractive as the trade deadline draws near. He’s also shooting a solid 39 percent from 3-point range on a career-high five attempts from deep per game.

Evans would likely be a great fit for any team that is looking for depth at the wing position, with the ability to put him at the backup point guard position.

And if it’s only going to take a future first-round pick to land his services, any contender should be interested in taking the gamble on Evans, even if it’s just a rental.

The Celtics likely have the most assets to play around with, although would Danny Ainge be willing to waste an asset or two for a potential rental? Not so sure about that.

The Cleveland Cavaliers make a lot of sense, but they’re in disarray and merely making a move for Evans likely doesn’t solve anything.

The Rockets are a team to watch, but I’m not sure they have enough to get a deal done. It could an outside team that gets a deal done, but there’s no question that the market for Evans is only going to grow from here on out.
