Heat Get: Jabari Parker, John Henson, Jason Terry, 2nd Rd Pick

Bucks Get: Hassan Whiteside

Why it works: The Miami Heat may not consider themselves sellers at the NBA trade deadline, but this isn’t a deal that’s going to make that much of a difference. Sure, they lose the big name but they gain a higher ceiling by making such a deal.

Jabari Parker, when healthy, has a higher ceiling than Whiteside. At this point, that’s what the Heat should be aiming for – not the 4th or even 3rd seed in the East. As for the Bucks, adding Whiteside solves their center issue and helps this team immediately. Milwaukee has enough young talent where losing Parker, who has been plagued by injuries through his first few years, won’t hurt much.

This is a win-now move for the Bucks, which is clearly what they’re trying to do after trading for Eric Bledsoe earlier this season.
