The Los Angeles Lakers will make two bold trades

Before this week’s NBA trade deadline, I believe that the Los Angeles Lakers will make two bold trades, for pennies on the dollar. Specifically, the Lakers will move Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson for cheap, in an attempt to open cap space for what they expect to be a historic free agency period.

The Lakers believe that they’re going to be the top landing spot for each of the big free agents this summer, and they’re going to make deals that suggest that.

Los Angeles might end up striking out during the summer, but they’re going to do everything humanly possible in order not to. Their books are going to be lined up. It’s going to be up to Magic Johnson to make it all happen.
