Breaking down our NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, February 7th
There are six games on the slate tonight in NBA action with action kicking off at 6PM CT as the Nets visit the Pistons. The Cavs will host the Timberwolves and look to avenge their 28 point loss from a month ago.
I will be taking more of a studs n’ duds approach to tonight’s slate with so much star-power in action.
Last night’s lineup scored 291.4 and cashed in most tournaments. Let’s keep it rolling again tonight!
High Value (Lower than $6K in Fanduel salary)
More from Sir Charles In Charge
- LeBron James working to assemble super team for USA Basketball in 2024
- Dillon Brooks proved his value to Houston Rockets in the 2023 FIBA World Cup
- NBA Trade Rumors: 1 Player from each team most likely to be traded in-season
- Golden State Warriors: Buy or sell Chris Paul being a day 1 starter
- Does Christian Wood make the Los Angeles Lakers a legit contender?
- Alex Len – C – ($4,600) – Keep an eye on the status of Tyson Chandler as he will almost certainly rest tonight on the second half of a back to back. If Chandler sits, that will put Len into must-play territory as the only eligible center on the Suns. The match-up against the Spurs is not enough to scare me away as Len has proven to be a points per minute monster when given the opportunity.
- Marquese Chriss – PF – ($4,800) – Chriss only played 19 minutes last night against the Lakers but that was more than enough time to get his production as he ended the night with 27.7 fantasy points. Coach Triano mentioned that his decision to start Dragan Bender was strictly match-up based and Chriss clearly outperformed Bender in far less minutes. I’m looking for Marquese to get back in the groove and score over 30 fantasy points tonight.
- Rajon Rondo – PG – ($4,800) – I’m sure Rondo has burned everyone at some point in their DFS careers but his upside is one that keeps you coming back for more. His production has been trending up since the injury to Cousins and the Pelicans will need him to be more aggressive on the offensive end moving forward. Rondo should have no problem hitting value tonight against a reeling Pacers squad.
- Dejounte Murray – PG – ($5,500) – Although Murray has failed to reach value in his last two outings, don’t forget that this is the same PG that has pulled down 9 or more boards in 4 out of the last 5 games. Murray should be able to have his way tonight against the smaller Tyler Ulis and the uptempo pace of the Phoenix Suns.
- Dillon Brooks – SF – ($4,100) – For a player that is averaging over 30 minutes per game over his last 5 games, his price is far too low. He has scored in double figures in his last 7 games and needs a couple of rebounds/steals to fall his way to reach value. Although the match-up against Utah is not ideal, I like his chances to reach value tonight with Tyreke Evans still on the shelf. With all of the star-power on tonight’s slate, finding reliable value will be crucial to fit Harden, James, Butler or Anthony Davis into your lineup.
- Bam Adebayo – C – ($4,200) – With Kelly Olynyk looking doubtful to play tonight it will fall on Bam’s shoulder to pick up the load in his absence. He came through in a big way on Monday with 40.5 fantasy points in 26 minutes. Spoelstra has mentioned he would like to play Bam alongside Whiteside more often if possible and his showing Monday should reaffirm that. Hassan has been playing limited minutes anyways, only logging 22 minutes in Monday’s contest, which paves the way for Bam to shine in his match-up against the uptempo Rockets tonight.
- Joe Young – PG – ($3,700) – With Darren Collison sidelined, it was Joe Young, not Cory Joesph who filled in with production at the PG spot. Although Joseph got the start, Young got hot from three and logged 27 minutes resulting in 22.4 fantasy points on Monday. If he can replicate that value tonight he will be one of the best bargains of the night.
The Price is Right – ($6K to $8K in Fanduel salary)
- Nikola Mirotic – PF – ($7,200) – Nikola has seen his price sky-rocket since he joined the Pelicans after his huge debut performance. He is locked into big minutes and New Orleans needs his scoring presence to space the floor. There’s no telling which Nikola will show up tonight but he always has the upside to score 40 fantasy points on any given night.
- Josh Jackson – SF – ($5,900) – Josh Jackson continues to put up solid numbers at the starting two-guard in Phoenix. He has five productive outings in a row and with Booker looking doubtful to play again tonight, Jackson should be asked to shoulder the load offensively. If you have the salary to afford Jackson, lock him in. The choice at SF tonight will be between Jackson and Dillon Brooks for me, as I will be locking in Butler or LeBron into the other SF position.
- Donovan Mitchell – SG – ($7,500) – Consistency continues to be an issue for the rookie as evidenced by his last 3 outings scoring 2 points, 40 points and 20 points respectively. Mitchell is someone I will always take a chance on as his upside is undeniable. For someone priced below $8K, he certainly has every bit as much upside as the studs on tonight’s slate.
